Château La Rame Bordeaux Blanc 2025The grapes for this cuve (95% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Smillon) come from a four hectare hillside parcel of clay and limestone soil with a full southern exposure that overlooks the Garonne River in Sainte Croix du Mont. The vines have an average age of 25 years. After a manual harvest, the grapes are fermented in temperature controlled vats and left on the fine lees for six months prior to bottling.

this wine combines classically Nuits-Saint-Georges iron and sous-bois with fruit a bit more caressing and Vosne-Romanée-like than its more southerly situated counterparts

It is left unpasteurized (nama) giving it life and vibrancy

This release

Raised for one year in a combination of 80% large foudres and 20% terracotta jar

This is the principal white cuvée of the domaine

which results in small berries of immense concentration

it is fermented and aged 12 months in fine –grained oak foudre

The wine spends 24 months in 228L barrels (less than 10% new) with no addition of SO₂ at any stage of the élevage

Fumin and Mayolet

fermenting spontaneously in stainless-steel tanks for two weeks

its woodsy nose with notes of truffle and spice announces a grand wine of breed and character that refuses to yield to the modern notion of easy drinkability
