Guitarist and vocalist Jones co founded The Clash with bassist Paul Simonon, guitarist and vocalist Joe Strummer, and drummer Nicky "Topper" Headon in 1976. Jones and Strummer together wrote most of The Clash's best known songs. Jones also was a founding member of Big Audio Dynamite. Simonon has since played with the Good, the Bad & the Queen and he and Jones reunited to play
