The Firebird pickup takes a totally different approach by instead orientating a bar magnet within each of its two coils and orientating them vertically across the full width of the pickup

So much so

with that low end clarity and punch this magnet choice is often associated with but without losing any of the sweet high end detail you might find in a AII or AIII based pickup
