Drudwy Branwen (Branwen's starling) depicts the starling which the character tames, and tasks with delivering her plea for rescue to her brother, in Branwen's story. Believed to date from the late 11th and 12th centuries, the Mabinogion stories are contained within either or both medieval manuscripts the White book of Rhydderch (c. 1350)
