1912+ Rare Antique J&G Meakin Tea Pot - Gainsborough Shape In The Century Range - Pilgrim Pattern ContemporaryThe Century range and trade name was released by J&G Meakin in 1912 and continued with a variety of floral patterns through to 1963 when the trade name range was eventually discontinued. The Century name is often mistaken as the pattern name, when in fact the pattern title is seldom stamped on ware manufactured by J&G Meakin. This item is an antique tea pot manufactured by J&G Meakin in the Gainsborough shape and beautifully decorated in Meakins

these two items are individually hand painted as very fine porcelain items manufactured by Hayasi always are

The tray is in very good condition with no visible damages

Greek cyrilic also exists on the lid

which is very seldom encountered even in the entire Fashion Shape range released by Midwinter

This pattern was released after J&G Meakin had been taken over by the Wedgwood Group in 1970

The item has a double strand scroll handle with ball motif and a natural circular hole in the centre of the base plate for the addition of a bowl

None of the items are marked or stamped

Handle stamped JR & S in gothic followed by the globe mark and EP
